System Requirements for ProtoCOL 3 Family of systems. (aCOLyte3, ProtoCOL3, Protos, Chromazona)

NOTE : We have had reports of incompatibilities with DELL VOSTRO 5610 PC/Laptops. We have been unable to trace exactly what it is about this model that causes the problem. (The reported issue was the aCOLyte camera randomly disconnecting.)
Monitor & Display Settings
Display resolution: Minimum: 1280 x 1024. Recommended: 1280 x 1024.
Display size: No minimum requirement however we recommend a monitor with a 17″ screen or larger.
Monitor aspect ratio: There are no restrictions, however we recommend a monitor with a 4:3 aspect ratio. The software has been designed to work best with a screen with this aspect ratio.
Bit depth: True Colour (32bit)
Windows DPI setting: normal size (96DPI)
Operating System
The following operating systems are supported in both the 32 and 64bit versions:
Windows 7 (Win 7 is no longer supported by Microsoft, but we do our best to Support users still using it in legacy systems.)
Windows 8.1 Pro
Windows 8.1 Enterprise
Windows 10 Pro (Recommended)
Windows 10 Enterprise
Windows 11
Processor:
Minimum: Intel Core i3 6100 TE (or better)
Minimum number of processor cores: 2
Memory:
Minimum for 32bit operating systems:
2GB RAM Recommended for 32bit operating systems: 4GB RAM (32bit systems cannot USE more than 4GB RAM, even if more is fitted.)
Minimum for 64bit operating systems: 3GB RAM
Recommended for 64bit operating systems: 16GB RAM or more.
Graphics chip: Intel HD Graphics 530 (or better)
Disk Requirements:
HDD (hard disk drive) or SSD (solid state drive) with 2GB or more of free space. If you are buying a new system we recommend a disk of at least 500GB total capacity.
Connectivity
One high-speed USB 2.0 port for connecting to the Synbiosis system.
Additional notes: A USB 3.0 or USB 3.1 port is also usable for connecting to the Synbiosis system.
The aCOLyte 3 requires an additional USB 2.0 port for connecting the supplied USB Licensing Dongle.
Sometimes a low-speed USB device (e.g. a keyboard) connected to a port adjacent to a Hi-speed device, can cause the Hi-speed device to not be given the full bandwidth that it requires. Please consider this when specifying or setting up a system.
Software
Internet Security: Synbiosis software should work along side any of the well known, stable internet security packages however we only perform testing against the following:
Microsoft Windows Defender (included as standard with Windows)
Kaspersky Internet Security
Office Software: If compatible office software is installed, Synbiosis software can interact with it to export your data. Presently the following office suites are compatible:
Microsoft Office (We test against the 2010 version and the Office 365 version but other intermediate versions should work)
Apache OpenOffice (We test against the 4.0 version but other versions should work)
The “Office” Apps that are preinstalled in Windows 10 have been shown to NOT work, as they appear to be different to the ones from a full installation of Office. This seems to be a difference Microsoft has specifically programmed into them and we cannot fix it. The only way around this issue is to install a “boxed” version or the Office365 version from Office.com.
